Concordia Gospel Outreach connects people with opportunities to proclaim the saving Gospel through contributions and programs that distribute Christian resources for evangelism efforts worldwide.
General Fund The Concordia Gospel Outreach Fund supports general mission and ministry resource requests received by Concordia Publishing House. Priority for donations from the Concordia Gospel Outreach Fund is given to those requests that do not have another potentially viable funding source. The Concordia Gospel Outreach Committee, appointed by the senior leadership of Concordia Publishing House, in consultation with other ministry leaders, determines the specific resources that are distributed.
Portales
Support the work of sharing the Gospel with Spanish speaking people by donating to the Portales de Oracion (Portals of Prayer) campaign. Portales is a daily devotional, written by Spanish speaking people for Spanish speaking people. It is a useful resource to provide as part of a mission trip, or to distribute in places rich with Latin culture. Your gift to this campaign will impact the lives of Spanish speaking people as they encounter the Word of God in a personal, devotional way.
Operation VBS
Recent statistics indicate that almost 2000 congregations in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod are not offering summer vacation Bible school programs. Often, lack of financial resources is the reason. VBS is costly to host. This important fund will supply VBS Starter Kits for congregations unable to afford VBS ministry. The kits will be distributed in early 2010. The goal is to remove the financial barrier that may prevent people from offering VBS.
Disaster Resource Fund
When a church in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod experiences a loss of printed CPH materials as a result of a natural disaster, CPH works with that congregation’s district to replace necessary materials. This CGO fund assists with the replacement costs for hymnals, pew Bibles, Sunday school materials, and more that connect God’s people to God’s Word.
